My lust for love. I asked so many an hour,  I asked when my eyes filled and tears flowed, I asked when my heart cried and my soul yearned. I asked, why not for me?

You walked so sure, and knew too quickly, Like you’d planned what needed to be said; You took your stance and got us drinks, Never captured by my gaze.

Where do I start? You dropped me, like it was so easy and fine. It hurt because you had things to do. You say I am the light, stars to your dark moon, but you dropped me so easily, as if it were nothing.

I love you… I always knew I did not know, A wanderer learning as she goes, Never knowing the cost of her learning.

I stopped and took a breath; I stopped to breathe. I took a breath to see my truths; I took a breath to not become The hamsters on the wheel all around me. I took a breath as fires are being set alight; I took a breath because I didn’t know how To let you in without losing a bit of me.

Paris in Spring is still; but my heart is wide awake.

As the month of February closed and a new season has sprung, I am left reflecting on love, particularly the everyday kind – that just is.

Love calls on us to be something more – to trust that two is bigger than one.
